Man killed in accident involving Bomet County Gov’t vehicle

A 45-year-old man died on Saturday after he was knocked down by a vehicle belonging to the Bomet County Government.

Bomet OCPD Geoffrey Walumbe said the pedestrian was crossing the Bomet-Sotik Road at Major area when he was hit, succumbing to  injuries on the spot.

Eyewitnesses said the vehicle from the Bomet County Disaster Management unit was speeding at the time of the accident.

After the incident, the driver recorded a statement with the police as investigations into the matter continue.

The body was taken to Longisa County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
