Man kills family cow, commits suicide

A remote village in Nakuru’s Subukia area was thrown into a mourning state after a 41-year old father of four killed the family’s daily cow before committing suicide.

The deceased, identified as Wilson Waweru, hacked the cow to death before hanging himself in a nearby bush.

Waweru is said to have differed with his mother after she stopped him from selling the only cow.

The family now claims that there are evil spirits aimed at taking away members of the family after Waweru’s younger brother committed suicide in the same bush seven years ago.

The family was forced to sell the meat from the cow and raise the mortuary fees and cater for funeral expenses.

According to his mother Hannah Wambui, the deceased warned any member of the family from eating the meat from the cow.

She added that her son had divorced his first wife and married a much younger one and this is when he started displaying wanting characters including threatening his children.

The body was taken to Nyahururu Sub County hospital.
