Man kills pregnant wife for selling 2kg maize
A 29-year-old man battered his pregnant wife to death on Saturday for allegedly selling two kilos of maize they had harvested at Kathera Village in Embu County.
Residents told Citizen Digital that the man was agitated after finding his 26-year-old wife selling the maize meant for domestic consumption without permission.
Tempers flared after the suspect confronted his wife over the matter, with the argument escalating into violence.
The suspect is said to have hit his wife using a wooden plank, inflicting grievous injuries.
The victim was rushed to Kyeni Mission Hospital but died while undergoing treatment.
The suspect is currently being held at the Runyenjes Police Station as investigation into the incident continues.
