Man linked to Nyamira first family arrested

Detectives have arrested a man related to the Nyamira county first family over suspected fraud.

The suspect, Hillary Obutu, is a brother to First Lady Naomi Nyagarama.

It is alleged that has been on the run since last week after several locals registered complaints against him.

One of the detectives confirmed that Obutu will remain in custody to allow for more investigations.

He is accused of defrauding the locals of amounts ranging from Ksh.200,000 to Ksh.300,000 on the pretext that he would assist them secure employment in the county government.

The DCI has not revealed where the suspect, who was arrested on Monday evening, is being held for interrogation.
