Man linked to rhino killing released on Ksh.500K bond

A suspect linked to the recent killing of a rhino at Lake Nakuru National Park was on Thursday arraigned before a Naivasha court.
Adan Abdi Mata who was arrested on Wednesday was charged with being in possession of six pieces of carved ivory and having a rifle illegally.
Mata pleaded not guilty to the charges before resident magistrate Martin Mutua who released him on a Ksh.500,000 bond and two sureties of similar amount.
The Kenya Wildlife Service on Wednesday said the suspect was arrested following a night raid that also led to the recovery of a rifle and six pieces of carved ivory.
The case will be mentioned on August 22, 2018, and hearing scheduled for October 25, 2018.
