Man Mauled To Death by a Buffalo In Nakuru

The 34 year old Peter Muregi Nyutu was gorged twice on his chest and died on arrival at the Nakuru Provincial General Hospital

Following the incident, angry residents of Nakuru pointed an accusing finger at the Kenya Wildlife Service claiming it is riddled with laxity

The residents say that two buffalloes crossed over to a nearby Nakuru Water Services Company, NAWASSCO through a damaged part of the park and attacked the deceased.

According to a witness Edward Mureithi, the buffalloes attacked two of his colleagues at around 11 in the morning.

Efforts by the residents to scare away the animals by throwing stones at them were futile as the buffalloes turned on them forcing them to run helter skelter.

The deceased has left behind a widow, Ann Wangare and two daughters aged three and a half years and another three weeks.
