Man murdered in alleged love triangle

A 36-year-old man was Thursday night murdered in what was reported  as a love triangle in Ayego Village, Migori County.

The deceased,George Omondi, was murdered unknown assailants after they met with his alleged lover at her house.

According to Uriri OCPD Benjamin Mwanzia, the deceased and the assailant were fighting over the woman, who is a widow.

Mwanzia said the deceased, who is suspected to be one of the inheritors of the widow, went to visit her after he received reports of another man courting his lover.

The OCPD said the suspected murderer, who was armed with a panga, club among other crude weapons, bludgeoned the deceased.

The man died  while undergoing treatment at a nearby health facility.

The police boss said the assailant and the woman, whose names are withheld for investigation purposes, are still at large.

The body of the deceased was taken to Rapcom Hospital mortuary as investigations continue.
