Man nabbed with Ksh4.6 million in fake money

Police in Bungoma have arrested a man who was found with 1,000 fake notes summing up to Ksh4.6 million.

Confirming the incident, Bungoma County Police Commander Charles Munyoli expressed worry over the effects the fake money could have on the economy.

“Try to imagine if this money could have been circulated, the effects it could have to the economy of Bungoma town and Kenya in general,” said Munyoli.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Munyoli confirmed that police have the suspect in custody as he awaits arraignment over the possession of fake money.

He thanked the public for their collaboration and asked them to keep it up in order to crack down on illegal businesses.

“We want to thank the public as they gave us information about the fake money transactions in Bungoma town, we urge them to continue with this collaboration,” said Munyoli.
