Man on the run after hacking to death wife and two children

Police are pursuing a 44-year-old man who reportedly hacked to death his wife and two children in Nzambani, Kitui County on Friday.

According to Nzambani Sub-County AP commander Lawrence Njeru, the suspect, identified as Thenge Mutua allegedly slaughtered his 34-year-old wife, 14-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son using an axe.

Njeru further told Citizen Digital that police have launched a man hunt for suspect, who fled after committing this heinous act.

The police boss further indicated that investigations are underway to establish reasons that led to the incident.

The bodies were moved to the Kitui Level Four mortuary.
