Man sentenced to death in Chuka

Chuka High Court has on Monday sentenced Paul  Kithinji  Marigu, a middle-aged man charged with murder, to death.

Before   Judge Alfred Mabeya ,  the court  had heard that   on  13^th July 201, Marigu murdered Joel Gichari Mwiathi,  contrary to  Section  203  as read with  Section 204 of  Penal Code 63 laws.

The convict has been given fourteen days to appeal the ruling, failure to which he will face the mandatory death sentence.

In April, a man who murdered his neighbour after a disagreement over a Ksh20, 000 debt was sentenced to death by the High Court in Homa Bay.

Kennedy Ongere was accused of murdering Sospeter Othim at Kanyimach Village, Migori County, on March 21st, 2010.
