Man Sets Wife On Fire

28 year old Timothy Kang’ang’i, who was armed with two small containers of petrol and a dagger, stormed  the offices of Tetu Aberdare Sanitation and Water Services Company where his wife Leah Wanjiru, works.

Kang’ang’i went direct to his wife’s office, poured petrol on her, then set her ablaze.

Christine Wairimu who tried to come to the rescue of Wanjiru was stabbed.

The two have been married for over ten years and have one child.

Residents say the two have had domestic squabbles all along.

Wanjiru and Wairimu were rushed to the Outspan Hospital where they were admitted in critical condition.

Kang’ang’i was arrested and is currently being held at the Nyeri Police Station.

Area chief Mwangi Wangechi confirmed the incident.
