Man shoots brother on the face with an arrow in Nakuru

By Robert Maina

A 27-year-old man is nursing injuries in Mboroti Village, Marioshoni sub-location, after his brother shot him on the face using an arrow following an alleged disagreement.

Vincent Kirui, who was shot on Monday morning by his brother Cosmas Kimutai, was admitted at Nyayo Hospital in Elburgon, Nakuru County, awaiting a minor operation to remove the remains of the arrow.

He said he quarreled with his younger brother on Sunday evening for reasons he was unwilling to disclose.

Confirming the incident, Elburgon Assistant County Commissioner Naftali Korir said they are now searching for Kimutai who fled after the incident.

Mr. Korir further called on residents to resolve their family disputes using the right channels provided by the government, adding that some family issues – such as division of property – are sensitive and can lead to deaths.
