Man Shot Dead By Drunk Officers In Laikipia

This was after he was shot by two allegedly drunk Anti Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) police officers in Ol-Jabet area of Laikipia West Sub County.

Mr Samson Ndarawit is said to have gone outside his house after he heard a commotion from his neighbours, who had been chasing away marauding elephants that had invaded one of the farms within the village, when he got shot.

STAGGERING AWAY

Joshua Koskei, an eye witness, confirmed that the deceased was not among the group driving away the elephant towards the Rumuruti Forests at the time shooting.

Mr Koskei says the officers arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on the deceased who was at the time standing outside his house.

He further observed that after the shooting incident, the two officers left the scene staggering without a comment.

The residents are now appealing to the government to arrest the two officers and bring them to book for their actions.
