Man shot, three injured during anti-IEBC demos in Nairobi

One person has been shot at Nairobi’s GPO Round-about during anti-IEBC demos by the National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters.

Eyewitnesses claim that the man stole a mobile phone from a passenger in a government vehicle who then got out of the car and shot him on the leg, beat him up and shot in the air to disperse the crowd before speeding off in the vehicle.

While speeding off from the scene, the vehicle knocked down three people seriously injuring them. The injured victims have been rushed to a Nairobi hospital.

Confirming the incident, Nairobi Police County Commander, Japheth Koome, told the Citizen Digital that investigations have been launched to ascertain the true identity of the shooter and the victim too.

Countrywide anti-IEBC demos’ updates

Hundreds of National Super Alliance supporters have taken to the streets demanding the resignation of IEBC officials who opposition leaders have accused of skewing the nullified August 8 presidential election in favour of Jubilee Party candidate, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kisumu

Police have been deployed to the Central Nyanza Regional IEBC office in Kisumu after supporters marched to the offices as directed by the NASA secretariat.

Traders have closed their businesses in the town in fear of looting.

Nairobi

NASA supporters have marched to Uhuru Park chanting anti-IEBC slogans where they were addressed by Siaya Senator, James Orengo, who said that before an the election is conducted the so-called irreducible minimums must be met.
