Man stabbed to death by marauding gang

Residents of Burnley Estate in Majengo, Mombasa County are living in fear after a middle-aged man was stabbed to death by a group of youths on Monday.

According to witnesses, the deceased approached a gang of youths, who have reportedly been terrorising residents in the area, inquiring on their suspicious activities and a scuffle ensued which resulted in him being stabbed severally on the chest.

The man died while being rushed to Coast General Hospital.

Police have launched investigations into the incident.

Elsewhere, a somber mood has engulfed Misinga Village in Kanduyi, Bungoma County after a retired prison warder was attacked and killed in his house by unknown assailants.

Irate residents threatened to hold protests over the incident claiming that police have done nothing to curb the increasing cases of murder in Bungoma.

This comes less than two weeks after two boda boda operators were killed under unclear circumstances by unknown people in what residents now claim is a daily occurrence.

The body was taken to Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary.
