Man stabs father to death in Nyandarua

Police in Ndaragwa, Nyandarua County are holding a 34-year-old man who stabbed his father to death on Saturday evening.

John Waithaka is said to have stormed into his father’s house in nine-one village at around 7pm and descended on the elderly man with a machete

The suspect’s mother said she was returning from the shamba to cut napier grass for their livestock when she found her husband lying in a pool of blood.

The woman narrated that she also came across her son leaving their house while carrying a panga and when she asked him what had transpired, he confessed to have committed the crime.

It was then that she raised alarm attracting the neighbours who pursued the suspect before he could escape.

The suspect was taken to Ndaragwa Police Station, while the body of the deceased was moved to Nyahururu County Referral Hospital mortuary.

Nyandarua North OCPD Timon Ondingo confirmed the incident saying police had already launched investigations into the matter.
