Man stabs friend to death for sipping his beer

A drinking spree turned tragic after a 23-year-old man was stabbed to death for reportedly sipping his friend’s beer at a bar in Bondo, Siaya County, on Wednesday night.

Fredrick Ochieng died after being stabbed twice by his 22-year-old friend, Ian Omondi, during the 1am incident at Wich-Lum beach.

According to Wich-Lum Beach Management Chairman, Peter Were Ajulu, the two were allegedly engaged in a quarrel before Ochieng forcefully sipped Omondi’s beer.

Omondi then reportedly drew out a knife and stabbed Ochieng on the chest and stomach, leading to him (Ochieng) falling down and, eventually, dying due to excessive bleeding.

Confirming the incident, Nyaguda sub-location assistant chief Edwin Juma Owuor said the body of the deceased was moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

Mr. Owuor noted that investigations into the incident were underway.
