Man stabs wife seven times before committing suicide in Nakuru

A man in Rongai area, Nakuru County, on Wednesday night killed his wife by stabbing her seven times before hanging himself.

Neighbours say 30-year-old Robert Nyakundi and his wife, Wilter Kerubo, 26, engaged in a domestic fight at around 7pm before they went silent.

When the neighbours visited the house, they found the woman’s body lying in a pool of blood having been stabbed with a kitchen knife.

The motive of the killing, which left their four-year-old boy an orphan, could not be immediately established.

According to neighbours, the boy, who at the time of the incident was in custody of the man’s sister, is not Nyakundi’s biological son as Kerubo already had a child by the time she was married.

Police have since launched investigations into the incident.

Meanwhile, still in Nakuru, police are looking for a middle-aged man who slit the throat of his wife and seriously injured her lover after catching them engaging in sex on his matrimonial bed.

The incident happened at the suspect’s house on Wednesday night at Kapregerego Village in Tinet Location, Kuresoi South Sub-County, Nakuru County.

According to local Nyumba Kumi Initiative elder, Robert Mutai, Paul Maritim found his wife, Janet Maritim, entertaining her lover at 11pm.
