Man stabs wife to death in Eldoret

A family at Shamberere village in Malava Constituency, Kakamega County, is mourning the death of their daughter who was allegedly murdered by her husband after a dispute ensued between them.

The incident happened at the suspect’s house in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County where the man is said to have stabbed the wife identified as Khanali Mwonobe on the neck using a kitchen knife.

Neighbors say the couple engaged in a domestic fight that led the man to pick a knife and stab his wife.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Emily Mwonbe — a sister to the deceased — said she received a phone call from neighbors of the couple with the news that Khanali Mwonobe had been stabbed by the husband after an intense quarrel.

Emily said she traveled to Eldoret where she found the husband burning the clothes of her sister before trying to escape.

She further added that she found the body of Khanali laying on the bed lifeless.

Police have since launched investigations into the incident whose motive remains unclear.

Meanwhile, still in Eldoret, police are investigating the death of a female student from Moi University School of Medicine who was on Tuesday morning hacked to death in broad daylight outside Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) .
