Man surrenders to police after beheading sons
A 33-year-old man in Taita Taveta surrendered to the police on Wednesday, August 24, after he allegedly killed his two children.
Reports indicate that Charles Mutuku of Njukini area in Taveta Sub-County beheaded his two sons aged five and eight years before surrendering to police.
According to eye-witnesses, there was a family disagreement between Mr. Mutuku and his wife, a quarrel that led to the wife fleeing with their newly-born daughter leaving the two sons behind.
According to Taita Taveta Police Commander, Fred Ochieng’, the wife spent a night in a friend’s place and upon returning to her home the following morning, she found the bodies of her two sons lying lifeless.
Police have since launched investigation into the case and the suspect will be arraigned in court at a later date.
The bodies of the deceased have since been removed to Taita Taveta Sub County Hospital mortuary.
