Police gun down suspect in murder of mother, daughter

Police in Machakos gunned down a murder suspect in Syokimau on Wednesday.

The suspect was shot dead at his home in Katani on Wednesday morning and two AK 47 rifles recovered.

Reports indicate that the two AK 47 rifles belong to a GSU officer and spent cartridges that match the guns were found at the murder scene.

Neighbors said they heard sound of gunshots at around 6am and it lasted for about 30 minutes.

Sources close to Citizen Digital alleged that the suspect had been hired to commit the murder of two women.

The suspect was said to have killed a woman and her daughter in Karani, Machakos county on Sunday.

The duo was shot dead outside their homestead at Kambi estate by unknown gunmen.

According to Athi River sub-county police boss Samuel Mukuusi, the assailants waylaid the businesswoman outside the home as her mother was opening the gate for her.

The gangsters reportedly shot the mother first before turning the gun on the businesswoman.

The woman’s husband was also shot and injured during the fracas; he was later rushed to Shalom Community Hospital.

Meanwhile, another suspect, a GSU officer is in police custody in connection with the murder.
