Man wants Raila barred from August polls terming his degree questionable

A voter has moved to court seeking to have the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, blocked from vying for the top seat in the August 8, 2017 polls.

Charles Ndungu Mwangi wants the court to order Education Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, to table in the court Raila’s primary and secondary certificate including the engineering degree.

“The opposition leader is not above the constitution and the laws of Kenya and is supposed to respect, uphold and defend the constitution failure to do that would amount attempting to establish unlawful government,” argues the petitioner.

Respondents in the case include IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, EACC chairman Eliud Wabukala, Inspector General of Police, Joseph Bionett, the Attorney General and the Education CS.

He claims the Education CS failed to provide the public with Raila’s true education details.
