Man who fled after beheading wife in Kibera arrested

A man who is alleged to have killed his wife with a machete at Kisumu Ndogo area in Kibera, Nairobi County has been arrested.

The suspect, who reportedly fled after the incident, was apprehended on Sunday in Khayega, Kakamega County.

He is set to be transferred to Nairobi to face charges.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 6 at around 9:30pm and in the full view of the couple’s two children, aged 13 and 8.

Neighbours say they heard commotion coming from the deceased, Jackline Nekesa’s house and only later realised that she had been attacked and beheaded by her husband of three years using a panga.

One of the neighbours, Laurine Oyomba, told Citizen TV that the deceased had once confided in her saying her husband, only identified as Fred, was threatening to kill her.
