Man who has been impersonating Lufthansa pilot arrested

A 48 year old man was arrested in India for posing as a Lufthansa pilot.

Rajan Mahbubani has reportedly been doing this for a while to get preferential treatment at airports.

”He was caught at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday evening,” CNN said.

He was just about to board an AirAsia local flight from the Delhi to Kolkata when airport police nabbed him.

This, after a Lufthansa employee alerted airport security of a passenger posing as one of their captains following a call to AirAsia to confirm Mahbubani’s identity.

It appears however, that the Indian national set himself up after posting videos of his mischievous on social media which caught the attention of local authorities.

Police also recovered photos of him dressed in combat uniform with a fake Lufthansa pilot ID which he says he got from Thailand.

Mahbubani also admitted that he dressed as a Lufthansa pilot to gain easy access to the airport.

He is now being held in a Delhi police station and will be charged with impersonation.

The charges attract either a 1 year jail time, a fine or both.
