Man who left home ‘with Ksh.10,000 for Christmas merry-making’ found dead

Police officers in Mumias West are investigating the death of 42-year-old Enock Nechesa, a resident of Musanda's Eshikangu village.

According to family members who spoke to Citizen.Digital, the deceased was last seen leaving his house on Christmas Day.

Area chief Elisha Ondako said the late Nechesa had carried some Ksh.10,000 for merrymaking on the fateful day.

He never made it back home. Instead, his body was discovered near a river in Ingusi on Tuesday morning, with visible injuries.

Residents in the area have decried an increase in cases of insecurity as the investigation into the death continues, demanding that police officers in the area take command.

The incident occurred just days after the body of another man, Francis Akafwala, 37, was discovered dumped in Ebubala Indoli village, which is a stone's throw from Eshikangu village.

In another case, Dan Ashuma, 40, is lucky to be alive after being attacked by thugs at the Buhuru shopping centre.

He suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack and was treated at a local private facility.
