Man,28, stabs mother-in -law to death in Elburgon
Grief has engulfed Kapsita village in Elburgon after a 28-year-old man identified as Stephen Marigi stabbed his mother-in-law,55, killing her on the spot.
The area chief Alex Gichane confirmed the incident, saying the suspect had gone to his in-laws to pick up his wife who had returned home after a marital fallout.
According to Mr. Gichane, the suspect arrived at his in laws on Saturday evening armed with a knife.
He was spotted by his ex-wife who immediately raised alarm before fleeing into the opposite direction,
The deceased who was also home at the time dashed outside to answer to her daughter’s call of distress when she was accosted by the suspect.
The suspect, the chief said, stabbed his in-law, killing her on the spot.
He also attacked his two brothers-in-law who had also responded to the distress call.
They are currently receiving medical care at the Elburgon sub-county Hospital.
Villagers who had by the time been alerted of the attack rushed to the scene and cornered him before he could escape.
He is currently being detained at the Kapsita Police Station pending his arraignment in court.
Residents appraised of the matter told Citizen Digital that the murders suspect has had a slew of marital issues with his wife who had even return to her parents home.
He had reportedly tried to woo his ex-wife back to no avail.
The body of the deceased was moved to the Elburgon sub-county hospital.
