Man,30, arrested for defiling his 9-year-old niece in Bondo
A 30-year-old man is being held at Bondo Police station after he was arrested for allegedly defiling his 9-year-old niece at Kanyandiri village, Central Sakwa location in Bondo sub-county.
The suspect who has been identified as Lucas Wata was cornered by his family members who then frog marched him to the police station on Tuesday night.
According to the Acting Chief Central Sakwa location Mr. William Oreme, the suspect is said to have lured the Grade Three minor into his house before defiling her.
He is also accused of beating the minor up as she attempted to scream for help.
Word got out after the minor escaped and reported the matter to her uncle.
The administrator told Radio Ramogi that the minor had been treated at the Nango Health Center and later transferred to Bondo sub-county hospital for proper medication.
Meanwhile, the prosecution process has begun to have the suspect charged in court.
Mr. Oreme condemned the act and called on parents to always ensure they take good care of their children, noting that they should never entrust anybody with their children.
He stated that the level of immorality has increased to an extent that even relatives who should protect the children are the ones that violate their rights these days.
