Manchester United Sacks Moyes

According to the official Manchester United website, the club placed on record its gratitude for his hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role as manager.

Moyes, 50, was chosen by Ferguson as the man to succeed him when he retired after 26 years as club manager.

Moyes left Everton to sign a six-year deal with the Premier League champions.

Manchester United is currently holding the seventh position in the Premier league with four games still in hand.

This season has been the lowest ever for the club in the history of the Premier League.

United will miss out on Champions League football for the first time since 1995 and are also likely to miss out on the European competition for the first time since 1990.

The club has appointed veteran player Ryan Giggs as the caretaker manager with Nicky Butt as his assistant before the club settles on a manager.

Giggs served as player-coach under Moyes while Butt has worked with the reserves.
