Manchester United Stars to Miss Clash against Arsenal
Confirming the reports, team manager Louis van Gaal said defender Johny Evans is a doubt, but Angel DI Maria, Robin van Persie and Marcos Rojo are available for the match.
Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck will be absent for the match, with Aaron Ramsey being touted to feature despite returning to training on Friday after a knock.
With the league already won by Chelsea and Manchester City on pole position to take up the second place, Sunday’s match between the two sides will be merely a pride for pride.
Arsenal, with a game in hand and two points above Manchester United, are the favourites to take up the third spot and avoid the hassle of playing in the Champions League Qualifiers, though United manager has stated that there is a chance for the Red Devils to finish third.
Going into the match, Manchester United stand unbeaten in seven premier league games between the two sides, winning five and drawing two, and have lost just one in 12 games.
Arsenal’s last league victory at Old Trafford was in September 2006, though the Gunners beat United 2-1 in an FA Cup match at Old Trafford early this season to book a place in the semi-finals.
