Mandera: Man, 20, sentenced to 50 years in prison for defiling one-year-old child

A Mandera court on Friday sentenced a 20-year-old man to 50 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of defiling a one-year-old child.

The prosecution, led by Charles Mogaka, convinced the court beyond reasonable doubt that Ibrein Guracha committed the offence.

Senior Resident Magistrate Kimani Mukabi, while reading the judgement, said the 50-year jail term was appropriate for the accused.

Magistrate Mukabi further said Guracha should take full responsibility for damaging the girl physically and mentally.
