Man’s hand chopped off by debtor

A 40-year-old man is recuperating at Chogoria Mission Hospital after his debtor chopped-off his hand.

Speaking to the media from his hospital bed, Francis Muthomi Gitonga from Mugero village in Maara district said he had provided timber-milling services to Aaron Kiria.

Kiria was supposed to pay him Ksh 28,000 but ended up paying Ksh 21,000.

According to the 40 year old, when he went to demand for the Ksh 7,000 balance, Kiria came out of his house with a panga and chopped his right hand.

Maara OCPD John Njihia said the accused is still at large and the police are looking for him.
