Mans mutilated body found in plantation

Police officers in Rarieda Sub-County have launched investigations to establish the cause of the death of a 28-year-old man whose body was found in a cotton plantation at Langu Village in Central Uyoma location on Friday.

The area chief, Mr Cosmas Okwama, said the late Joseph Ong’injo Chialo’s body was found lying in a pool of blood at the cotton plantation, half naked and with deep cuts in his private parts, having been killed by unknown assailants.

Rarieda OCPD Johana Chebii has, however, stated that they have already launched investigations into the matter to establish the identity of the killers.

The police boss is now appealing to anybody with information that may lead to the arrest of the culprits to come forward.

So far two people, a man and a woman, have been arrested in connection with the murder and are being held at Aram Police Station to help with the investigations.

This comes even as police in Nyeri on Monday recovered three bodies of unknown persons dumped in two separate places.

Two of the three bodies had been dumped at Kabiruini forest located along the Nyeri-Nyahururu road, less than 10 kilometers from Nyeri Town while the third body had been dumped at the bank of Muringato stream in Tetu Constituency, four kilometers from the first scene.

The three bodies had striking similarities and lacked open injuries, leading police to believe that their death could have been as a result of being hit with a blunt object.

The Nyeri police boss, Charles Rotich, said documents obtained from the pocket of one of them indicate that he is from Kahuro in Murang’a County.

Rotich, who led a team of police officers to both scenes, said they learnt of the bodies on Monday evening after being informed by members of the public.

He added that police have begun investigations to establish the identities of the three victims.
