Marakwet East Member of Parliament Kangogo Bowen was on Saturday evening involved in a road accident on the Kapsawar- Tot road near Sambalati Primary School in Marakwet East.

Mr. Bowen, who was driving the car, was heading to a wedding ceremony together with two of his children when the accident occurred.

Reports indicate that the vehicle’s brakes failed as the car was moving down a steep descent prompting Mr. Bowen to veer off the road to prevent a collision with other vehicles.

The car tore through a fence on the side of the road and stopped in a nearby farm. The MP sustained minor injuries while his children, who were in the rear seat, were not hurt.

Mr. Bowen was taken to Mediheal Hospital in Eldoret at around 9 pm where he is undergoing treatment.

A medic at the hospital, Dr. Patil Iarag, said the MP sustained minor injuries and that he is out of danger.
