Marende,Nyongo Pull Out of ODM Elections

Speaking at the party headequarters today, Marende said he had weighed his options and opted not to contest.

 

Nyong'o on the other hand said he felt that he had served long enough and it would be best if he gave others a chance to do the same.

 

The list of those eyeing various leadership positions however continues to grow.

 

Homabay Senator Otieno Kajwang is said to be the preferred candidate for the Vice Chair’s slot, while Dr Agnes Zani is believed to be the frontrunner for the Secretary General’s seat.

 

Simon Ogari and Abdikadir Aden have allegedly been earmarked for the Treasurer and Organizing Secretary positions respectively.

 

Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero is eyeing the Vice Chairman position.

 

Odinga is poised to retain the party leader position unopposed.

 

Party members interested in various positions have until the 27th of this month to submit their application forms, to pave the way for a vetting process by the party’s National Elections Board.
