Mark Toos body arrives in Eldoret for burial tomorrow

The body of former KANU nominated MP Mark Kiptarbei Too has arrived at his Kapseret home in Eldoret for his burial scheduled for tomorrow (Monday) despite a court order issued by Eldoret High Court to stop the burial.

The plane carrying his remains touched down shortly after 10am Sunday morning and was received by his two wives Mary, Sophie, and the mother of his son Fatuma Ramadan, family members, and leaders from Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Elgeyo Marakwet Counties.

Mark Too passed on the 31st of December of a heart attack while being rushed to St. Luke Hospital in Eldoret while in critical condition.

His body was then transferred to Lee funeral home for a post mortem.

Eldoret-based lawyer Simon Lilan, who claims to be Mark Too’s lawyer, had moved to court to oppose the post mortem results saying the renowned politician was killed.

Speaking on Sunday in Eldoret, Mr Lilan said he has received death threats from a section of leaders and vowed that he will not be cowed in his search for justice on the former MP’s cause of death.

The lawyer issued two conditions for the burial including that samples be extracted from the body before burial, and that his remains should be buried at his first wife’s home in Kosirai according to Nandi customs.

“I fear no evil; I will only allow that burial to proceed on two conditions, that he must be buried at Mary’s home, and my appointed doctors must be allowed to take samples or specimen for purposes of examination…” he said.

He said he would seek exhumation orders if the burial committee will go ahead to bury Mark Too’s remains.
