Matatu driver loses leg after an early morning accident

Five people were seriously  injured Monday morning after a mini-bus rammed into a 14-seater matatu along Landhies Road in Nairobi.

The accident, which happened at around 6AM, left the matatu driver in a critical condition with his right leg cut off due to the impact.

The MOA Compliant bus, which was headed to Buru Buru from Nairobi town, went over the concrete barriers on the road and hit the town-bound matatu near Muthurwa Market.

Medics from the St. John Ambulance services arrived shortly after the incident and rushed the injured passengers to Kenyatta National Hospital.
