Mathare By Election Underway

The 9 are vying for the seat after the nullification of the election of George Wanjohi as Mathare MP.

The candidates are George Wanjohi of TNA, Steven Kariuki of ODM, Billian Okoth of National Labour Party, Sammy Jenturo of Progressive Party of Kenya, Fwamba Crispus of Maendeleo Democratic Party as well as four other independent candidates who are Barrack Obat, Nixon Kavai, Marium Muthoni and William Omondi.

88,053 registered voters are expected to take part in the election.

The polling stations were open from 6am, and will close at 5pm.
