Mathioya MP Peter Kihara spends night in jail

Mathioya MP Peter Kihara is expected to be arraigned in court on Thursday after he was arrested for drink-driving.

Kihara was flagged down by police the previous day while ‘recklessly’ driving from Madaraka estate at around 8pm.

According to Nairobi DCI Boss Ireri Kamwende, a chase ensued leading to the arrest of the Mathioya MP on Mbagathi Way.

An alcohol test followed shortly after which revealed Kihara was intoxicated.

The legislator was then arrested and spent the night in a cell at the Kilimani Police Station.
