Mbadi asks Gov’t to resign over failure to eliminate corruption

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman John Mbadi has maintained that part of the cash the government raised through a Eurobond issue was stolen and the explanation from government on its usage was meant to hoodwink Kenyans to believe otherwise.

The Suba legislator now wants the jubilee government to resign for failing to tackle corruption.

The Eurobond Saga continues to elicit reactions from the opposition, which has dismissed Treasury CS Henry Rotich’s assertion that no money has been lost.

“Rotich will not answer that question. I am an expert in figures and money matters and I have no doubt in my mind that that money has been stolen and Rotich cannot answer that question,” said Mbadi.

Mbadi took a swipe at Rotich for inviting CORD Leader Raila Odinga to treasury for answers on the Eurobond issue, claiming it is the Kenyan citizenry that needs answers and not Odinga as a person.

“Raila did not ask questions in his capacity as Raila, he asked on behalf of Kenyans and all we need is answers,” stated Mbadi.

The ODM chairman said the jubilee administration under President Kenyatta has no business clinging to power anymore since it has failed in matters of governance.

“Uhuru himself has admitted that there is corruption in his government, he even asked for prayers from Pope but before you ask for forgiveness you must confess your sins. The answer to your problems is resignation, we go back to elections,” said Mbadi.

Homa Bay County Women Representative in Parliament Gladys Wanga asked jubilee legislators to stop their ‘Boresha Katiba’ side shows and join the Okoa Kenya Referendum Initiative.

The leaders warned that the jubilee administration could soon crumble if the President does not act fast to rid his government of corruption.
