Mbagathi Way to be closed for 4 days

A section of Mbagathi Way is set to be closed from Friday through to Monday to allow for demolition of the footbridge.

The road will be closed for motorists from 6am to 6pm for all of the four days as the contractor demolishes the footbridge to pave way for the construction of a new modern one.

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has now advised motorists to use alternative routes saying, “We apologize for the inconvenience that may be caused as we endeavor to provide efficient urban road network.”

Traffic coming from Lang’ata Road through Mbagathi Way will now divert at Mbagathi Road and join Mtongwe Road, proceed up to Mbaruk Road before joining Muchai Drive then onto Ngong Road at Coptic Hospital.

Traffic coming from Ngong town via Ngong Road, on the other hand, will proceed up City Mortuary Roundabout, exit and join Ngong Road again then drive up to the Muchai Drive diversion.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) had earlier on also issued a statement notifying the public of closure of a section of Thika Superhighway at Witeithie from Sunday to Tuesday.

The road will be closed from 11pm to 4am due to the planned erection of a footbridge.
