Runyenjes Member of Parliament, Cecily Mbarire, and her supporters have thrown their support behind Party of National Unity (PNU) gubernatorial candidate, Kithinji Kiragu.

The family of the MP, led by her sister, TrizahMbarire, and brother, IreriMbarire, led over 5,000 supporters and community leaders who were campaigning for Mbarire in endorsing Kiragu and vowed to vigorously campaign for him.

Mbarire was absent at the meeting held at Mwene Ndega Grounds near Runyenjes town but Kiragu told the voters that she was in the United States on official duties.

The Legislator’s representatives said they had the blessings of the Mbarire family and that they are convinced their support would guarantee Kiragu a landslide victory on August 8.

Mbarire lost in the Jubilee primaries to Governor Martin Wambora after garnering 40,000 votes against his 60,000.

The Embu County gubernatorial race is now a three-horse race between the incumbent Martin Wambora (Jubilee), Lenny Kivuti (Maendeleo Chap Chap) and Kithinji Kiragu (PNU).
