MCA in court for sending daughter to sit KCSE exam on her behalf

Nominated Mogotio Member of County Assembly (MCA), Purity Tallam, was on Thursday, February 9 arraigned in a Nakuru Court and charged with examination malpractices committed in November last year.

Ms Tallam is accused that in November 2016, she sent her daughter, Catherine Tallam, to sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination on her behalf that she had registered as a private candidate at AIC Njoro Secondary School.

Catherine Tallam was arrested in the examination center by police but was later released on a Ksh 50,000 bond.

Nakuru Police had been looking for the MCA since November and only managed to nab her Thursday saying that the challenges in getting her were as a result of the County Assembly being on recess since November.

They, therefore, had to wait for the MCAs to resume session for the arrest to be effected.

She was released on a Ksh 10,000 cash bail awaiting the mentioning of her case later this month.
