MCA Lempei in court over alleged rape of 19yr-old girl in Maralal

El-Barta ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Peter Linus Lempei was arraigned in court over rape allegations.

He was accused of defiling a 19-year-old girl in one of the hotels in Maralal town on diverse dates between May 20-21, 2019.

Appearing before Principal Magistrate Richard Koech, the MCA denied the charges.

He was released on a bond of Ksh. 300,000 or a cash bail of  Ksh.100,000.

The case is set to be mentioned on July 15.

The hearing for the same was scheduled for August 12.
