MCAs to blame for devolution failure
A leading MCA from Siaya County now says the County Assembly will shoulder the blame should devolution fail in the county.
The Central Alego MCA Leonard Oriaro says that Members of the County Assembly are bestowed with three roles; legislating policies, budget making and oversight, which if effectively executed, will help the county executive deliver its mandate to the effectively.
Speaking at Boro Primary School during the launch of “Wadagi”, a Mother-Baby programme, the MCA said that this will only be achieved through a cordial relationship and proper collaboration with the Office of the Governor.
“I want to challenge the MCAs in this county that your uprightness on the part of legislation and representation is what shall enhance the work of the Governor and the county executive.”
