Medic accused of raping sedated patient arrested in Nyatike

Police in Nyatike have arrested a medic accused of raping an unconscious patient.

The man identified as Tobias Butu is said to have been on the run since the incident occurred at Frontal clinic in Muhurubay.

He was arrested on Thursday and is expected to be arraigned in court on Friday.

Nyatike OCPD John Mutsili said the victim who went to the clinic to seek for treatment was sedated by the accused medic before being raped inside one of the rooms at the facility.

According to Mr. Mutsili, the victim had gone to the clinic for blood transfusion.

The OCPD said the patient regained her consciousness after several hours but could not trace the medic.

Mr. Mutsili assured residents that police will investigate the matter.
