Medical workers in Kajiado threaten industrial action over CBA
Medical workers in Kajiado, South Rift region has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the county bosses to implement the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), failure to which they will resort to industrial action.
The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union (KMPDU) Secretary General Davji Atellah expressed frustration over lack of promotion, worker harassment and poor working conditions.
He further said intimidation of doctors in Kajiado prompted resignation of over 30 doctors and other medical practitioners in a span of one year, resulting in shortage of medics.
The SG also asked the county government to honor CBA which was signed 2016/2017 stating that only Kajiado County has failed to implement it unlike other counties in the South Rift region.
