Memorial Service for the Salgaa Victims Held

The 12 people from Nyathuna village in Bahati Nakuru County are among 3 others who perished in a tragic road accident last Saturday at Salgaa area along along the Eldoret –Nakuru highway.

Friends, family members leaders and local leaders led by Nakuru Governor, Kinuthia Mbugua and Senator James Mungai attended the ceremony at Nyathuna village primary school grounds.

Addressing the mourners, Kinuthia said that the accident was a great loss to Nakuru County as a whole.

The governor also called on the government to look into the design of the Kibunja- Salgaa stretch of the highway to avoid such accidents along the area.

Senator James Mungai reiterated the need to have vehicle inspectors conduct regular checks to ensure all vehicles are roadworthy.

One of the victims was buried at the Nakuru north cemetery, while the others will be buried starting Saturday.
