Memusi Sworn In As Kajiado Central MP

Memusi was elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket after defeating Patrick Memusi of the Jubilee Alliance Party in the hotly contested by election held on Monday.

Memusi takes over as Kajiado Central MP from Joseph Nkaissery who was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as the Interior Cabinet Secretary.

Mr. Memusi (ODM) emerged victorious after garnering 16,008 votes against the JAP candidate’s 15,508. Mr Kuntai Nkashuma, an independent candidate, got 100 votes.

It was Mr. Tutui’s third straight loss, though for the first time, he came close to winning.

President Kenyatta was personally monitoring the results of the election that his new party desired to win ahead of its launch.

Jubilee leaders formed the party to consolidate Mr. Kenyatta’s support in Central Kenya and the Rift Valley ahead of the 2017 General Election.
