Meru Elders Defend Kaimenyi Over Managing Head Teachers

Led by the council’s Secretary General Pharis Rutere, the elders say Kaimenyi’s decision to demand more accountability from school principals was justified and teachers unions must desist from criticizing the move.

The elders are unhappy that both the Kenya National Union of Teachers and the Kenya Union of Post Primary Teachers (KUPPET) are opposed to Kaimenyi’s move.

Owing to his vast experience in education sector, the elders maintain that Kaimenyi who is also one of their executive members, is qualified for the job and should be respected as he carries out his ministerial duties which will benefit the entire country.

The elders also asked politicians from across the political divide to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto so as to allow the duo to deliver on their pledges to Kenyans.
