Migori county staff released on Ksh.30K cash bond in graft case

Six Migori county government officials who were arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives over corruption allegations were arraigned on Thursday.

Directors; Francisca Onyango (Ministry of Agriculture), Lazarus Ogutu (Ministry of Education), Charles Wambora (Ministry of Water), Tom Kwasi (Ministry of Public Service Management) together with County accountants Collins Bala and James Amenya appeared before Justice Richard Odenyo.

They were released on a Ksh.30,000 cash bond each.

The six suspects are expected to take plea before court on August 27, 2018 together with other county staffs who are still being pursued by the EACC detectives.

Sources reveal that the Ethics and Anti-corruption detective are still pursuing other three county staffs over corruption allegation.

Two months ago officers from EACC raided homes of various key business people alleged to be doing business with the county government.
